Why families choose Kindred Teddington

At Kindred Teddington Nursery and Pre-School, we've created a home-from-home feel, perfect for families looking for more personal care. Tucked away in a residential area our peaceful setting helps our children to feel safe and settled.

Our nursery offers dedicated free-flow outdoor spaces for each room, giving our children the freedom to choose the environment they want to learn and play in. Our older children can enjoy sensory-rich play in the sandpit or learn all about nature in our planting area, whilst our sheltered baby garden provides a safe space for our youngest learners to explore.

For commuting families, our nursery is conveniently located just a short walk from Teddington Station. We also have free parking spaces available for our parents who would rather leave their car and travel into central London on public transport instead.

A little about me...

Autumn has always been my favourite season. I love the crisp autumn air, cosy evenings wrapped up under a blanket, and watching the world change colour. It’s such a magical time of year, especially when working with little ones, as it offers so many wonderful opportunities to explore and learn about the changing seasons.

What is one of the most important things you should know about us? That’s easy: our fabulous teams! Pure and simple.
Dedicated to being the best that a family could ask for, our team are constantly developing themselves through our training program run by childcare and EYFS experts.
It is not just our little ones who are the passionate lifelong learners here at Kindred! It’s all a testament to their love of what they do, and what makes Kindred the incredible, loving place that it is.

DAY IN THE LIFE

Day in the Life

Drop Off

Our doors open from 07:30, where you and your little one will be greeted by a member of our friendly team who will strive to ensure that the transition from home to nursery is a smooth and happy one. Wave ‘see you soon!’ to your child in the knowledge that they will be safe, well cared for and having endless amounts of fun as they settle in for the day ahead.

Breakfast

Our children start their day off correctly with a healthy range of options to choose from, such as cereals, fruit and toast for breakfast. For weaning babies at all mealtimes, a specially curated weaning menu is prepared by our trained chef and can be mashed, chopped or pureed depending on your child's individual needs.

Morning

Fuelled with a yummy breakfast, children enjoy a range of enrichment activities, adult-led learning linked to focus topics and child-led play experiences. From loose parts exploration and sensory activities to creative arts, imaginative role play and cosy reading corners, there is truly something for every child to enjoy. Outdoor play also forms an important part of the morning, allowing children to build confidence, develop physical skills and explore through active play. A healthy snack is available from 10:00 to keep everyone energised throughout their busy morning.

Lunch

From 12:00, we enjoy lunch, freshly prepared by our on-site chef. Mealtimes provide a wonderful opportunity to socialise with friends, develop independence and explore a variety of flavours and textures. Our seasonal menus offer plenty of choice and are carefully adapted to accommodate individual dietary requirements and preferences.

Nap Time

Following lunch, our younger children can enjoy a well-earned nap or quiet time. For our little sleepers, we create a calm and comforting atmosphere using soft lighting, soothing music and cosy bedding to support rest and relaxation. Children who are not sleeping can enjoy quiet indoor activities, stories and gentle play, helping to create a peaceful transition into the afternoon.

Afternoon

We come together for circle time before our children continue their learning journey through a balance of indoor and outdoor experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity and independence. Whether exploring open-ended resources, engaging in imaginative play or enjoying active time outdoors, every afternoon offers opportunities for discovery and development.

Snack

To keep little ones fuelled and ready for all the awe and wonder their days hold, we offer a healthy mid-afternoon snack, including fresh fruit and vegetables alongside other nutritious options. From 16:00, our children enjoy a delicious evening meal before settling into a relaxed period of child-led play, giving them time to unwind and enjoy activities of their own choosing.

Home

As the day draws to a close, children enjoy relaxed play with their friends before being collected throughout the evening. Families are kept up to date through Satchel during the day, and at collection time your child's key person will share highlights of their learning, achievements and wellbeing, along with any important information. Nursery closes at 18:00, when we wave our final goodbyes and wish everyone a safe journey home.

This is just an example day that the nursery follows, each day is subject to variation depending on activities and the needs of the children.

FAQs

FAQs

How often do the children play outside at the nursery?

Our children have free-flow access to our outdoor spaces all day and in weather conditions.

Do you take the children for trips in the local community?

We believe in enriching children's experiences by actively exploring our local community and try and take them out as often as possible. Additionally, we also participate in the local village fair every year, strengthening our community links.

What are the designated parking and access arrangements for drop-off and pick-up at your nursery?

We have limited parking available on our driveway for quick access. There is also ample free parking available on the street outside the nursery.

How does your nursery engage parents and build a strong community?

We strive to build strong family relationships by inviting parents in as often as we can for fun and engaging events. We host seasonal and special celebrations, usually twice per term, including a week-long Christmas celebration with events like card workshops, seasonal parties and special events for Mother's Day and Father's Day.

How do the settling in sessions at your nursery work?

We follow a structured three-day approach to settling in, which is designed to be gradual and supportive:
During the first session, you stay with your child for the full hour while we complete paperwork and the 'All About Me' booklet.
This is followed by a session where you drop off your child for an hour, allowing them to practice separation and start forming bonds with our staff.
Finally, your child stays for an extended three-hour session to experience a significant part of the daily routine.
This process is always flexible; if needed, we can customise and extend the sessions to meet the unique needs of your child.

Reviews for Kindred Teddington

Hear what our families think on daynurseries.co.uk, the UK's most trusted nursery directory with ratings based on reviews from verified parents.

“My son started around two months ago and it took him a little while to settle, but the team have been incredibly attentive to his needs throughout. They have all gone above and beyond to make both of us feel comfortable and supported. The daily in-person updates have been especially reassuring and such a lovely personal touch. We're always greeted with a warm, friendly smile, which has made a real difference during the settling-in period. The app is amazing too, keeping me updated on his time at nursery... I'm very happy with the nursery and the care they provide”

“We are so happy with our experience at Kindred Nursery. Our daughter absolutely loves going there every day, and that says everything! The teachers are incredibly kind, caring, and attentive. They create such a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe, happy, and encouraged to learn. What we really appreciate is how well they communicate with parents. If there are ever any concerns, they keep us updated right away and handle everything with professionalism and care. It gives us great peace of mind knowing our daughter is in such good hands."

"Our experience at Kindred has been absolutely wonderful. The staff are flexible, kind and caring at all times. Our son is so happy there. There are regular fun learning activities - it seems something new every time. They make a great effort to have additional activities like sports and music, but are also very tuned in to whether these activities work well for the kids or are overwhelming. The building has a great set up with good meals and I love how they often mix the age ranges so our son gets exposed to lots of different kids. Everything feels safe and well managed at all times."
